Bluetti Introduces the Elite 200 V2, a Premium Portable Solar Generator

As one of the biggest names in the portable power station market, Bluetti is known for a wide variety of high-quality products that offer power and solar recharging on the go.
The company has just released the Elite 200 V2, its latest and most premium power station.
Based on our testing, we love the Elite 200 V2 for its small size, mighty power output, and high-end components. It is the most energy-dense power station in the Bluetti lineup, with automotive-grade lithium iron phosphate cells designed to retain at least 80% of their original capacity through 6,000 charging cycles. That’s over 16.5 years of daily charging.
Price and where to buy
As with past product launches, the Elite 200 V2 is offered at a steep discount. The introductory price is $1,099—$900 off the MSRP, and you can use the coupon code ELITE200V2PR to get an extra 5% off, bringing the total down to $1,000 before taxes.
At $0.48 per watt-hour, that is a very good price.
The introductory price and discounts are good, starting at 6 pm PST on November 12th and ending at the same time on December 2nd, 2024. Further discounts are available if you package the Elite 200 V2 with one of Bluetti’s portable solar panels or the new Charger 1 car charger.
Key specs of the Bluetti Elite 200 V2
2,600 watts power output
“Hercules” mode for up to 3,900 watts of power to resistive appliances like heaters
2073.6 watt-hours of energy capacity
Weight: 53.35 lbs
AC input: 1,800 watts
DC Solar input: 1000 watts via XT60 port
DC Charger 1: 560 watt charging from vehicle alternator
Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) mode with 15ms switchover time
5-year warranty, and a battery that lasts up to 6,000 charging cycles
Elite 200 V2 features
On its face, the Elite 200 V2 seems like a pretty ordinary portable power station: its outputs include four 20-amp AC outlets, two 15-watt USB-A and two 100-watt USB-C ports, and a 12V “cigarette-lighter” port. It can charge in about an hour through its 3-prong cable from the wall or in about 2.5 hours from up to 1,000 watts of solar power.
The things that make the Elite 200 V2 special are on the inside: a super-quiet fan, a powerful inverter, and automotive-grade lithium iron phosphate cells. These cells come in a rectangular form factor, allowing them to be packed more densely than the cylindrical cells that usually make up a power station’s battery pack.
These cells make the Elite V2 much more compact than other 2-kWh portable batteries. They are also robust enough that Bluetti says they can be charged and discharged 6,000 times before their ability to store energy is reduced to 80% of their original capacity.
A new way to charge
In addition to the Elite 200 V2, Bluetti has also just launched the Charger 1, a DC car charger that can be installed between the car’s alternator and battery. The Charger 1 provides up to 560 watts of power through the Elite 200 V2’s XT60 input port, meaning it can charge the battery in about four hours of driving.
That’s about six times faster than charging via the 12V outlet inside an automobile.
What’s missing?
A couple of things that are included in other Bluetti power stations are missing here. The Elite 200 V2 is not waterproof like the company’s recent AC240 and AC60 batteries. It is also not expandable with additional storage capacity, like many Bluetti batteries.
The Elite 200 V2 is really focused on being a long-lasting battery that uses super high-quality components for RVers and people who need a capable, compact, portable power station.
Final thoughts
The Elite 200 V2 represents a big step forward in quality and energy density from Bluetti. The battery cells used in this product are every bit as good as the best home solar batteries on the market, and the result is a simple, powerful, compact battery that should provide its users with portable power for many years to come.
All that comes from Bluetti, a company with years of experience making good products that you can trust to stand behind those products and be around to honor the Elite’s 5-year warranty.
If you’re looking for a powerful portable battery and don’t need it to be waterproof or expandable, the Elite 200 V2 gets our recommendation.
