Cascade solar was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. After getting expensive quotes from very aggressive, pushy large solar companies I got a recommendation from a friend in an environmental group I work with about Cascade Solar, a small local group. I could not be happier with their work. Tom Crowe worked up the plan for the panels. He is extremely knowledgeable, answering all our questions in great detail. Nicole Nicholls handled all the paperwork for permits and jumped through all the administrative hoops of incentive applications to the Energy trust of Oregon and the Oregon Department of Energy which saved us thousands of dollars. David Nicholls and his crew did a flawless installation. The Crew was very professional and friendly. They did an EXCELLENT job installing our home solar system. The installation was in June. Our PGE bill has been 15 dollars a months since. Communication excellent and timely throughout. I just cannot recommend them more highly

Professional, honest and reliable
I’m not sure what else you could ask for. Cascade Solar was an absolute pleasure to work with. They answered all my questions, were totally transparent about all the costs, and never pressured me. The installation was super quick and easy, and they even helped me connect with the utility. I wish I had done this sooner!

From first contact to final adjustments, Cascade was responsive, professional, flexible, and transparent. They did not preach or sell; they listened and offered options. Our system is a bit unconventional, but it works for us, and we could not have done it without Cascade.

Removal and Reinstall
Cascade Solar is a great Solar company. They were a lot more accommodating for my schedule and slightly more affordable. I needed to reroof my house. Tesla Solar(Solar City) originally installed my system. They had a 3 month wait and cost about $500 more. They did drop and breaking one of the solar panels during reinstall. They replaced it at no charge to me. And reimbursed me for the loss of power generation while they acquired a replacement. System is working without issues.

The Cascade Solar team was great. They helped me design the solar system for my home. The install went smoothly and was done on time. They handled all of the paper work and continue to provide support after the install was complete.

“Great Experience from start to finish”
My experience with Cascade Solar has been excellent. From the initial consultation to the final installation, everything exceeded my expectations. As a small Portland solar company, I worked with one person, David, from start to finish. I wasn’t handed off to multiple people through the project's lifespan as can happen with a larger company. From the initial design of the system to the engineering needed to upgrade my roof system, to the various tax incentives available and help with the solar loan, Cascade provided flawless service. They installed the latest and highest quality equipment, did not try to up-sell me on equipment I did not need, and the cost they quoted me is exactly what I paid. David was wonderful and I was very impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, and ability to answer all my questions while communicating all the information important to me. My advice to anyone shopping for a solar company is, don’t be lured in by low finance rates that the larger companies offer because while you may pay less in interest on your loan, you will be paying much more for equipment and installation than you might if you work with a smaller company.

Great system, honest local company
Solar is a BIG purchase, but Cascade Solar made it a transparent, honest one with skill on install, flexibility in scheduling, a competitive price per watt compared to most, and access to a lender specializing in green lending at market or slightly-below market rates. They communicated great throughout and the process is more streamlined with them than two other firms installing for different friends of ours were. Our experience with bidding firms was wildly divergent - from “that big firm” that felt like dealing with a bot, to other mid-tier firms that frankly padded their bids (one firm quoted the same price for final install that we had for CS, but for 60% the array size!). Our Enphase system is performing as advertised and the backup Powerwalls give us a bit more assurance in outages which have become all-too-common in PDX winters. They got us to a reasonable cost per watt installed with high-quality components, took care of the permitting and inspections, and did a final walk-through meeting to test our system performance and make any adjustments needed. If you are considering solar, give these folks a call. There are a lot of shady characters looking to make a mint on folks not doing their due diligence. Cascade Solar is local to PDX and absolutely worth your time to consider!

Great Experience
I recently had Cascade Solar install an 8.6 kW system in Oregon City, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The sales rep was low pressure, making the decision-making process stress-free. Working with Cascade Solar was great, and their pricing was competitive. Communication throughout the entire process was perfect, keeping me informed every step of the way. I highly recommend Cascade Solar for anyone considering solar installation, and I’ll likely be working with them again in the future for a battery installation.

Great Solar Insataller
Cascade Solar was excellent to work with and did a great job installing our home solar system. From the start, David Nicholls was professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and very patient in answering all the questions I had regarding the project. He worked with me to evaluate different sizes of arrays and different equipment options, in order to best meet our current and projected energy use. Cascade Solar’s pricing was the best of the several bids I received, while also including components featuring the latest technology. Once we settled on a design and decided to move forward, David worked hard, under tight deadlines, to ensure we received the best incentives and rebates available. When it came time for installation, David and his crew did a very professional job, and he subsequently returned to ensure everything was in good working order and answered any further questions we had. It was a pleasure working directly with an owner of the company who truly cared about making sure the customer is satisfied and the job is well done. I highly recommend using Cascade Solar.

Large complex job, beautifully done.
It was a large, complex job with permitting issues, pulling in the local, state, and federal (Army Corp) agencies. Cascade Solar handled all the permitting and did a beautiful job. This was a free-standing array in acreage behind the barn, tied to new Power Walls and metering electronics at the house. It required replacement of the existing power distribution panel on the house. I never had to play an intermediating roll between the various permitting agencies and Cascade Solar--no headaches, and the necessary disruption in power from the grid during installation was brief and scheduled ahead of time.
