Bait and switch
We've now had Illinois solar services (ISS) for over 1½ yrs. Unfortunately, our solar experience hasn't been positive. From the beginning of our interaction to today was a "less than adequate" situation. Their salesperson told us we'd be paying $10-$20 per month for our Ameren bill if we switched to ISS. At the time we were paying $300 - $550 per month so solar was a no brainer. Their ORIGINAL quote came in at 115% of our current usage, so great right?! Well we wanted to do our due diligence so we shopped around which took a few months and decided their quote was the best, so let's move forward. Installation was the next issue. After getting our system installed, and the system was underperforming, I was told we only had 108% because it "took so long to sign" which they did not inform me of until after installation. Performance was and still is subpar at best. I informed David of this issue and he gave me a $500 incentive check for the issues. We continued to have underperforming panels because our bills were still $200 -$400 INCLUDING our $222/month loan for solar, so our bills went UP from solar! They realized how poorly the panels were performing, so they gave us 6 free new panels! Great right? Wrong, they installed them on a North facing part of my roof where we had PLENTY of space facing south which would have been ideal. Since the new install (since early 2025) our Ameren bill has improved slightly. I gave David and call and email and now he won't return my calls. I'm giving then 2 stars instead of 1 because they did try to do SOMETHING for us ($500 and 6 panels) but either their product is bad or the installation but either way I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
