Poor customer service, misrepresentation and broken promises
It's been more than 6 months already and the system is not yet connected. No one picks up the phone and there is no response to voice mails. No response to text messages either. The financing company (Dividend, in our case) says this company, Sungrade is out of business as far as Dividend's information goes. Shady business and my experience has been very poor. Stay away from these guys. I should've stopped when their sales people told me they were unable to refer me to previous installation owners.

Do not trust them. We have a leak already
From the very moment we spoke to the salesman at Sungrade Solar in 2021 it was one lie after the next. They convinced us to stay with them due to the interest rate. It was a huge mistake. We were promised installation within 3 months by Oct 2021 and in full operation by Dec 2021. This of course never happened. We finally got connected in June 2022. Now January 2023 we have a leak in our roof. Our roof is brand new and was changed before the solar was installed and our roofer stayed in touch with Sungrade. I myself am a roofer by profession and inspected the work as it happened to a certain point till I fell ill. It was a nightmare to deal with Sungrade and promises not kept. I have called 3 of the numbers I have for Sungrade to let them know about the leak and 2 are no longer working. The one that works, she has not returned out calls. The smell coming thru our closet is toxic. We had our roofer in to inspect and he immediately said this is from the solar installation and we can now see sunlight thru our attic. They did not properly seal the penetrations and there's a pilot hole you can see the light thru. I swear, we spent a fortune between a new roof and solar. If any further damage comes from their neglect, we will see them in court. They've already put us thru enough. Now the TOXIC SMELL, the leak and damages.

Sun “Grade” of “F”
Zain, that is a bunch of bullshit. No service. I paid $55,000 so far for this. One battery never worked. It took a year to install the new one. Then the inverter stopped working. It took six months to get the new one. That was a month ago. Still no install. No response to text, phone call or email. I had no electricity for the whole summer. The installer tore up my water and phone line. Said he does that all the time. I had no electricity for the whole summer. Still don’t. Angry, Ken

They have "sky concierge" that handles the paperworks and permit, unfortunately for us we got assigned to Robin. Our first issue was the HOA application, they sent the application and typed the wrong email address, we were the one that found this mistake after 9days and them assuring us that they were following up daily. If it wasn't for me reaching out to my HOA, and checking the email address spelling I wouldn’t have found out that nothing was submitted to them. This is after assurance from Robin that he is following up DAILY!, which is flat out a lie. We are obviously doing all the follow up at this point. Next was the city permit, it was approved and emailed to them the same day but again we were the one that informed them that it was approved, after we followed up with the city, 19days before they confirmed that it was approved after we told them. Then the installation schedule comes next. We were given an installation schedule 3weeks out and was informed the day before that they would need to reschedule due to crews having covid, another 2weeks delay. After the installation that only took a day, we were told that the city inspection normally takes 2-3weeks. So we gave them a chance to get on this scheduling. After 3weeks we called the city and they have not received anything for a solar site inspection from the city, and the city only takes 1-2 days to get someone out to inspect. So we called sungrade why this was the case, and just more excuses. After this I talked to their communications director Michael Monroe, we were assigned a manager to get the ball rolling, it only took a few days to get the city inspection scheduled, and after that pge approval to operate. Their director of communications mentioned for us to save our electricity bill and he'll see what they can do with that to compensate for the delays, and not surprisingly after trying to reach him for a few weeks... CRICKETS. To be told that the sungrade solar team is following up and making all grounds in regards to the next step, and us finding out weeks later that NOTHING was filed or submitted is very disrespectful. Telling customers one thing, and not delivering on what we were promised. Often times those promises were just a simple call for us to be updated, but even after assuring us that Robin will call us by end of day, still nothing. The dishonesty and making the City of Oakley, our HOA, (and possibly PGE since we haven’t gotten to that step yet) look as if they are the cause delay of the project is unacceptable. We feel like there is no accountability on sungrade’s part, to be honest, the city of Oakley and our HOA has been very prompt on all the application and permits process. As a paying customer, on project this big, we shouldn’t be doing all the leg work. The whole project could have dragged on longer if it wasn't for us following up with our HOA and the City, and the "sky concierge" who should be doing the follow up is just a total crap, couldn't even get an email sent to the right email address. No attention to details, no regard for your time, and even blaming our HOA and the city of Oakley on their lack of attention and follow up. IF YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME ON AN EXPENSIVE PROJECT, CHOOSE THIS COMPANY. NO INTEGRITY. JUST BROKEN PROMISES
