My roof top installation went up in November 2015 using 50 x STL140. Two panels in parallel and Solaredge's thin film optimizer. As a first time self installer, I couldn't be happier. I have not seen any degradation, in fact I think they performed better this year than last. They have produced above name plate rating on several occasions. The relatively small size of these makes installation and any future maintenance easier, but cost a little extra in mounting hardware. You can't beat the modern looks of these, they are completely black and blend in a lot better than most silicon panels. Also, glass on front and back should provide longevity. Have 9 Stion STO 145 panels powering a 1.3kw system (panels, Midnite solar Classic 250 controller, Schneider freedom
SW2024 inverter, 4 6v L16 410 AH batteries) on a small off grid cabin with 120v house power to run lights, computers, small 120v chest freezer, small 120v refrigerator, 24v water pump . The panels exceed my wildest hopes and certainly surpass my expectations. They perform flawlessly in every way. On sunny days they recharge the batteries to capacity before noon. Today is cloudy and it took an additional 2.5 hours. These panels are amazing.... read more
