Believe it or not, I hated the idea of solar. I hated every Saturday when the door knockers would interrupt me and my cold brew while watching some PGA highlights. I never wanted solar even if it saved me money because of the fact that, the solar people are just so annoying. <br /><br />So there I am one day at my local super market called H-Mart buying my supplies to get my shabu shabu game on, when some man knocked into me. I stared him down and he quickly apologized and we went our separate ways. There I am corning the fish aisle making my way to the liquor section when I got bumped into again, it was the same man. This time though, I knocked his phone and wallet out of his pocket and then I noticed it, a solar business card…. It was sunpower and ive heard of them before because my cousins have it on their homes and I said to him, “you're one of them!â€. Confused the man said “I don't understand, what do you mean?†as I was curling my fist I said, “ the solar people….†And he nodded. He extended his hand to shake mine and said “ hi my name is….†I cut him off, I didn't want to hear his name or those dreaded words. As I was about to walk away he said “ 20 minutes or less can you save you 20% on your electricity bill….†I was baffled that this guy pulled the Geico slogan on me but amused at the same time. I told him you have 3 minutes to convince me why I should even give you a shot…<br /><br />He said:<br /><br />We are an honest company selling an honest product, if it doesn't work for you then I won't bother you. That's my promise.<br /><br />I said okay fair enough come over this Saturday.<br /><br />He showed up to my home right on time and was very sharply dressed. I mean this guy looked like a wreck in the supermarket but here he is looking like Mr. one million. I told the guy, I don't even know your name…. He stands back and does a little pose and says “the names Chiao, Evan Chiao.†I said alright mr. confident come on in…<br /><br />I was surprised that he was considerate to carry this little shoe cover things as to not get my floor dirty, that I appreciated.<br /><br />He started off by walking around my house and describing where the solar would go and then he explained to me why the utility company was bad, why his product was better and why I should trust him. He was kind, honest, and did not rush me. I never felt any pressure from this guy. The whole consultation lasted about 70 minutes and I wasn't ready to sign but right before I was about to say no, he's like oh and hey we have this great promotion. With the the great rebate plus item, I said okay Evan you convinced me. Let's do it.<br /><br />The permit took exactly 18 days to get and the material arrived at my door step the following week. I was so shocked at how professional their installation team was. They had incredibly nice branded vehicles and they all wore the safety vests and hard hats and finished the job so fast. It took them 6 hours for 28 panels. I got the best in the world, highest power and up until now the system has worked flawlessly. <br /><br />The company calls me from time to time to make sure im doing great and let me know the system is performing. Even though I can check this myself, they still do it and I appreciate that.<br /><br />Even though Evan was a little guy, his personality, expertise and honesty was that of a sumo. I have become good friends with him and will occasionally stop by and drop my off a nice 6 pack of beer. <br /><br />If you want an experience going solar that you'll never forget, choose this company. They won't rip you off or try to hide anything from you.<br /><br />They treated my home like it was theirs.<br /><br />I can confidently say that I consider Evan to be like family now and I would like everyone to give this company an honest shot.<br /><br />Ask for Evan Chiao, this guy is excellent to work with.
