In full disclosure I first learned about Stitt in 1984 when my brother worked there, building Lindal Cedar homes until 1988. At the time Stitt was known for quality craftsmanship and quality products....all way out of my price range back then. Fast forward to 2016 and my wife and I were looking for an economical way to heat our 35,000 gallon swimming pool (for the grandkids) and we thought of Stitt. They installed a 10 panel open loop solar hot water system on the roof of our barn which has worked flawlessly from the first day. When we decided late last summer (2020) to include solar to generate electricity it was an easy decision to go with Stitt. Our experience with the pool solar taught us that they are still a top notch company that takes pride in the quality of their product and the quality of their installation. They are meticulous! The installers followed the computer/satellite image and diagram of the panel location for our roof, but also conducted many visual checks to ensure that the installation "looked like they were putting it on their own house". For us, appearance is important.......as this is our "forever" house, but we wanted it to work as well. We would only get the financial return we hoped to achieve if we could offset our electricity costs for both our primary residence and a lake home (our utility company allows us to bundle the two homes). So far, it seems that Stitt perfectly sized our 10.6kWh system. For four of the eight months that we've had our system our monthly electric bills have been reduced to the monthly connection fee......and our best days for solar generation are still ahead of us. With the help of a southern exposure our best day of production since installation was achieved this month (April) with 72kWh's in one day....more than the 44kWh's we averaged in daily consumption last year. As the days grow longer we expect solar production to increase. This will allow us to "bank" some energy credits with our utility to cover periods of greater usage and lower solar generation and help deliver the return on investment we hoped to realize. All-in-all if we were making a solar decision today we would definitely hire Stitt Solar. There were no surprises, no hidden costs, there were no "call-backs" for poor or incomplete work, and they took care of the "leg work" of permitting, inspections, etc. Within two months of signing our contract we had a connected system. Our experience with Stitt was so good that we encouraged our son and daughter-in-law to go with the company and they are now very happy with their 9kWh system, achieving energy production equal to their consumption.
