I had researched solar companies for months prior to selecting New Day Solar. I read a lot of reviews, filled out online forms, and sent emails. I looked at large national companies as well as locally owned businesses. I am glad to say that after all this research, we were rewarded with a great product and outstanding service when we decided to go with New Day Solar. The cost was very competitive and I will tell you what I mean by the word competitive. New Day Solar’s price per watt was within pennies of the cheapest quotes I received. You then need to take into consideration the equipment being used and the service you expect to receive. I researched the type of panels and microinverters that were used for each quote and I read hundreds of reviews for the solar companies bidding for my business. Taking everything into consideration I was left with one conclusion; New Day Solar was my best fit. Everyone I dealt with from New Day Solar was very helpful. They were considerate of my lack of knowledge in solar and stayed very professional even after my many, many repetitive questions. I had worked with Walter (sales) for a couple of weeks. We had a few online meetings as well as phone calls and everything was finalized online. It could not have been easier. Walter had given me an estimated installation date. I was very surprised when I received a call almost one month ahead of time and asked if they could come the following week. Ryan and his group came out to install the panels early in the morning. It was another hot day and temperature got over 100° by noon. The install was completed by the afternoon. I can’t believe this all got done in one day with this type of heat. Must have been a lot hotter up on the roof! All during the process Sarah handled any questions I had. She took the lead on scheduling and following through. Everyone at New Day Solar was outstanding. The electric company was a different story. I sent in all of the paperwork and the application was deemed complete and valid prior to installation. After installation was completed and the system received final inspection the following week, I then received PTO (permission to operate) from SCE a little over two weeks later. Okay then, I’m hooked up and all set to see my electric bill start giving me credits. Wrong! I called the electric company about a month later because I had not received a bill in two months and my current billing period in entering its’ third month. Still not seeing any credit. I was told by SCE that I had to fill out more paperwork to request they actually start net metering even though it was already approved and I had PTO. The form was completed and I waited another three weeks and still did not see any credit. I called SCE and was told it take a minimum of 3-5 month prior to SCE adding net metering to my account. I was told to call back in three months. I was assured my billing would be retroactive to my PTO date but in the meantim
