Dear Kris and Robin, We apologize for the negative experience of going solar. The county review board in Prince William County, known for its challenges in approving solar projects, did not approve the engineering designs for your solar system. Ipsun Solar hired multiple engineering firms and despite their efforts to comply with the rules in Prince William County, the County didn’t grant approval. Throughout this process, we prioritized keeping you informed and involved in all aspects of the project, including regular updates, internal and external meetings, and transparent communication with the County. When it became clear that the project faced significant obstacles, we recommended canceling the project and issuing a full refund. Although you were passionate about continuing the project with us after we made it clear that things would not pass the County Review Board, we reached out to multiple other engineering firms to try to find a viable solution the County would accept. When those options failed, we eventually refunded your investment in full when the County confirmed that the project could not proceed based on the required system size for your home. We understand that Ion Solar was able to proceed by significantly reducing the system size, which was not your preference when working with us. In our pursuit to find a solution, we even employed another structural engineering firm despite the difficulties in finding one willing to work in Prince William County. Unfortunately, they were also unable to satisfy the County's requirements. It is worth noting that we have had to cancel numerous projects in Prince William County due to similar issues, and many of our competitors have ceased operations in the area entirely. In light of these circumstances, we kindly request that you reconsider your negative review. While we understand your frustration, your experience is not representative of our typical customer journey and was largely influenced by factors beyond our control. We have been open, transparent, and communicative throughout, and we believe that our unwavering commitment to finding a solution speaks to our dedication to customer satisfaction.
