Slow to Act and then won't honor 10-yr labor warranty

Later this week I will be out of pocket a minimum of $570 to have Prospect Solar come diagnose why I have only had 7 of 24 panels working for the better part of the year. My comms box was down and not functional for more tham a year, the aggregate solar meter has been on the fritz for 2 years, and when the comms box was replaced, my fears were confirmed - something is wrong. And Prospect says that another may cover some of the parts but that unless there is "workmanship" issues, my 10-year labor warranty from them is worthless. I can already think of a dozen ways for them to blame whatever has gone wrong on anything but their workmanship. Even with comprehensive squirrel guards I have, Prospect left significant gaps in between panels that who know what could get underneath. And the panel installation itself is so wobbly and inconsistant that I've had two different solar companies ask me what kind of second-rate firm did we hire for the job. And the condescension every time interacting with their tech reps is something to behold. The one this time literally asked "have you even seen a drop of production?" As if she couldn't see that an 8.3 kW array not clearing 1.9 for a max hour on a sunny, low-humidity day was anything but normal. Um, yeah. In 2022 and 2023, by mid-March, we were banking net kWh credits - building to more than 1,200 by October that our net usage looked like this: (the month closing is usually between the 9th-12th, so, January is really December 12 or 13 throug Jan 10 or 12. NET usage: Jan: ~500 (still had credits from the fall), Feb ~900. Mar: 20. April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December: 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0. This year? - Not a single net zero month, no bank walking into the fall and winter. And for that production, I get high-handed treatment and a MINIMUM bill of $570 just to likely hear them tell me whatever the issue, it would never be them. At least I know the sector well and know where to share my opinions. So, take it from me - be wary going with them, no matter what city/county partners with them. You will be lied to, slow to schedule installation; potential for slopp, noticeably poor installation, talked down to, and then left out in the cold the moment you need them.
