When Sunnova's contractor installed the panels on my roof they missed one of the 4x4's which ended up causing a roof leak the following winter. We realized there was a leak January 2024. They did not send someone out, despite repeated emails and phone calls until March. In March they sent a crew out not to fix the situation but to see if it was a Sunnova issue. It was, then they left without fixing anything. The roof continued to leak into a wall in my house through the rainy season- record rain by the way. The wall became moldy, wet, and spread significantly over that time. Then they sent out another crew a month or two later to do the same thing. I asked why they were not at my house to fix the leak and they said they were here to figure out if Sunnova was liable. Apparently, the first crew did not share records with Sunnova so they sent out a second crew to do the same thing as the first crew. I convinced the second crew to at least fiil the leak with silicone so it would not leak anymore, which they graciously did. Months went by with no news or fixing the problem. Finally, I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and within 1 week they were on my calendar to fix the roof and the room with the leak damage. After 9 months, Sunnova was finally motivated to fix the problem. Early September they fixed the roof and this last weekend October 19 they finished replacing the drywall and getting rid of the mold. Incompetance and a disregard for another person's personal property to say the least.
