Broken Promises, Poor Communication, and Buyer Beware

Suntria Solar Review: Broken Promises, Poor Communication, and Buyer Beware I purchased a solar system from Suntria in March 2024, with the system going live in April. My contract clearly stated I’d see a 74% offset in energy usage; however, when I was sold the system, the salesperson claimed it would be 84% offset, which is an outright bait-and-switch tactic. The reality? I’m only seeing 30% offset—less than half of what was promised on paper and far from what the salesperson pitched. For months, I’ve jumped through every hoop they put in front of me—sending electric bills, production data, you name it. I even confirmed with Idaho Power that my bills accurately reflect solar production, which shows the system cannot deliver the offset stated in the contract. Communication with Suntria has been abysmal: Repeated requests for a solution have gone nowhere. They never connect me with management or provide direct contact information. I’ve reached out via corporate contact forms, but received no meaningful response. A customer service rep admitted the system is underproducing, then promptly stopped offering any real help. My original salesperson’s email now bounces back—so either they quit or were let go. I’m extremely frustrated and concerned they’re delaying until the system hits its one-year mark, at which point I’d lose critical leverage to have this fixed. Potential Buyers, Take Note: Double-check the size of the system you’re being sold—compare their estimates with a trusted third party or your utility company. Read every line of your contract and know exactly what happens if production promises aren’t met. Demand clear communication channels from the outset—ask for management contact info in writing. Research customer reviews (like this one) before signing any agreements. Given my experience, I cannot recommend Suntria at this time. If you’re considering solar, please proceed with caution. I’m sharing this in the hope that others avoid a similar ordeal—and that Suntria steps up to correct what’s gone wrong.
