I had panels installed in December 2020 and it has been nothing short of a headache. The customer service is terrible. They rarely can give an answer. The warranty on your roof is a scam. We had rain coming in our roof for months. The rain wasn't apparent at first but gradually saturated the wall from the attic all the way down into the second floor of our home. The plaster in the walls in the second floor bedroom and the wall leading down the stairwell into the first floor is saturated and will all need to be replaced and painted. we had a roofer come and diagnose the leak as being the result of a "blow out" from misplacing the anchor from the panel frame into the roof beams. Sunnova sent out one of their own technicians to diagnose the problem and he also said it was the result of a "blow out" and assured that sunnova would fix the roof leak and would be responsible for all the water damage. a week later customer service sent an email saying they would come and fix the "blow out". When I inquired about the rest of the damage and when I could expect that to be resolved, that person stated the only fix Sunnova would do was the blow out and the roof leak and nothing more. The day the technician came back with an employee to fix the roof I inquired about the rest of the damage and who was responsible. when I first asked that day, he assured me that he had written up that damage and that they would be taking care of it and that he would speak with the department at Sunnova making those decisions and see what the issue was> a few hours later he came back to the door and said "Oh sorry the leak was not our fault after all and wont be fixing any of the damage because it was just previous squirrel damage that caused the leaks". However he also admitted that they fixed the "blow out" and that leak was resolved. this company knew the damage to the interior of our home was extensive and likely would result in a significant cost estimate to repair the damages and they simply did not want to do the work or take responsibility for the damage caused by their negligent installation. As well, that day the technician said they were taking the panel with them so the roofer could replace the shingles they removed to repair the leak caused by their negligence, but they failed to tell us they left the panels they removed propped up against our shed in the backyard unsecured and available for any thief looking for an opportunity. When they have removed the panel in the past for other work they have always taken it with them and brought it back after whatever correction needed was applied. For whatever reason they didn't do that this time and I did not know the panel was left out in the backyard unsecured until two days until i happened to see them propped against the shed> this is a thoroughly unprofessional way of doing business. As well they took a critter guard off our panels which had been installed last spring when they came unannounced to do some work in November. And they failed to reinstall the entire guard left three sides of the panels vulnerable to damage from squirrels. When i asked if they were going to re-install the critter guard the technician acted like that was an issue the previous crew needed to take responsibility for as he was not going to do so. He claimed there was no work order for the visit where the critter guard had been removed. So, now I have to pay for damage they refuse to fix and finish a job they clearly have no intention of doing in addition to reinstalling a critter guard I already paid to have installed once. The entire organization is corrupt and I am seriously considering filing a complaint with the Consumer Protection apparatus in my state. After Sales support with this company is minimum if you get any support at all.
