As good as Willie said it would be.

We have been very happy with our array. More or less makes the electricity bill go away, and we really appreciate our sales rep Spencer Sobolik. Spencer is out contact if anything crops up, and that feels like a true luxury in a world filled with call centers. So far the paenls have also withstood some serious hail which is a relief, not sure other panels in the neighborhood fared as well.

Repair Department is a major challange

I have 10 panels that have been offline since June. Firstly nobody brought it to my attention secondly I have called multiple times can’t even get a hold of the repair team. Everyone tells my they have escalated the issue yet I have not received a call for 3 weeks and still waiting. I’ve spent 6 figures on my system and shouldn’t have to wait this long for repairs. Everyday I’m bleeding money and can’t get a repair scheduled. It really shouldn’t work this way. Horrible customer service.

FRUSTRATING!!

My experience with Freedom Solar has been extremely frustrating. The initial installation was great, with wonderful communication. It all fell apart once we needed our roof replaced. Dealing with long delays, poor communication, and unresolved issues is unacceptable. Despite multiple calls and promises of return calls, they’ve failed to follow through, leaving us with a system that isn’t functional and additional electricity bills. It’s incredibly disappointing when a company doesn’t take ownership of the problem, especially when you’ve gone out of your way to follow their procedures to maintain the warranty. They’ve taken my money and have left me with having to pay out of pocket for electricity costs with no indications of when-or if-they’ll reinstall our panels. As an educator with a newborn, these unexpected electricity expenses have been detrimental to our budget. Meanwhile, they continue to send notifications about referral incentives up to $1,500. Perhaps instead of recruiting more customers they can’t adequately serve, they should focus on reimbursing their loyal customers who have been left in a lurch.

Not happy

I was so excited about freedom solar they got out here and put up the panels within a month but now six months later and they still haven’t been turned on. I am quite unhappy with freedom it’s seems to be all sales and no follow through. They blame it on FPL but it seems to me that there’s no one doing any questioning of FPL my time line just keeps getting further and further away from ever going live.

Powercell Battery vs. Whole Home Generator

The Freedom Solar sales representative - Sam Cochran - presented to me why he would hands down select solar/battery back-up power with the Tesla Powercell 3 vs. a Whole Home Generator. Sam is a wealth of knowledge and is very financially and technically competent in the product that he sells. If you are considering a battery back-up power system, then Sam is your guy.

Forget About Customer Care

Unfortunately, I have to update my review with this downgrade. To be fair, I have loved the performance of my system until this latest issue. It appears that once Freedom Solar has your money you can forget about any support from them. I have started having problems with my battery backup system so I tried to contact Freedom Solar service by phone, by chat, by email with no response or even acknowledgement that they will look at the issue to diagnose and fix the issue. When you call you're put on hold and after a while the phone system cuts you off. They offer a call back option but they never call back. I've submitted service requests through email with no response. I've been on their chat where they promise to contact the service department but nothing! It's more than frustrating. Since then I've been in contact with Tesla support and they have connected me with another company to look at my outside. Bottomline, once Freedom takes your money don't expect them to live up to their commitment!!

Rip off

I have panels not working and they sent an alert to the app 14 Jun stating to contact them to investigate. Since 22 Jun, I have received the run around then 12 July, they show up unannounced to do partial repair, but because of my horrible experience I wanted to know why they were not fixing everything, we waited for 30 mins for Mark to call and he did not, so I called him and expressed my frustrations with Freedom Solar because same thing happened last year and never resolved. I’ve written to Sheryl Cole asking why no one regulates solar panels, and the recourse consumers have and nothing. Mark is as bad as Michael that apparently was fired. So my electric bill will continue to increase, $50 last month to $396 the next and FS sones NOTHING!

Power Outage

I purchased solar panels and a Tesla power wall through Freedom Solar after the winter freeze left many of us without power in Texas for several days. Since that time, we have had two extended power outages. Once repairs start, the grid is disconnected from the solar panels. Thus, you cannot use the solar panels for energy and the power wall cannot recharge. Our power wall energy lasts about a day, after cutting all unnecessary energy use, including AC. You’re better off getting a Generac generator. Additionally, the solar panels have never completely offset our electricity bill. Each month I pay for the panels and power wall and an electric bill. I would say that if you feel strongly that you want to reduce your carbon footprint, this is a good option. If you want to save money, it’s not.

Awesome Support Through IRS Audit

We have enjoyed our ground mount solar panels and 4 Tesla PowerWall batteries ever since installed for the following reasons: 1. Climate change is here 2. We are all electric and wanted an energy backup when the electric goes out 3. We planned to purchase electric cars, and now we have two. This spring we were informed by the IRS that our 2022 tax return was being audited specific to the Residential Energy Credit. Sam Cochran and the Freedom Solar team was extremely helpful in providing guidance and documentation for the IRS. I just received news from the IRS auditor that our documentation supports the Residential Energy Credit claimed. Thank you to Sam and the whole Freedom Solar team!

Absolutely Dismal Customer Service

Steer away from anything to do with Freedom Solar and their completely inept customer service and solar installation teams. There is no communication between teams, no accountability on issues, and unbelievably long hold times when calling them. I had a roof replaced and the only way to maintain the warranty was by having Freedom Solar come out and do the un-install and re-installation of panels. The roofing company quoted us half the price and a much faster turn-around time but we didn't want to risk going without the warranty. We had to wait 6 weeks for a team to come out and uninstall panels and then almost THREE months for them to reinstall them despite the roof being done in under a week. That's not even the bad part, the nightmare began when trying to get the re-installation completed. It has been 9 months since the roof was repaired and we still do not have a fully functioning solar system. Some panels were not connected correctly, others aren't monitoring properly, and yet others were damaged when re-installing. Navigating their customer service is without a doubt the most negative interaction I've ever had with any company, ever. I'm not interested in a canned response about how you want to do better. Take ownership of the issue and fix your problems.

Exceptional experience; instant savings & backup power

Our sales rep, Sam Cochran, was honest, straightforward and easy to work with. Every single person we encountered was professional and respectful. The entire solar and battery installation took one day to complete. Every solar installer and the electrician, Christian Reyes, was dutiful and they were patient with us, careful to explain exactly what was going on. Thankfully our solar and batteries were installed before the massive storm (tornado) that hit Houston, so thankfully we did not lose power for the entire week. Also, the savings are tremendous. We live in Centerpoint, so Sam Cochran helped us set up the Powerwall 3 battery so that during peak demand, we can sell our battery energy back to the grid. Within a week of our system being installed, I have seen our battery sell power for over 100 cents per kW, and summer has barely just begun!! 10/10, I highly recommend Freedom Solar Power.
