Burbank Solar
I hired Green Conception to install solar on my house. They were very professional and came out and completed the job quickly and the price was very competitive. Now, my electricity bill is virtually zero every month. I would highly recommend working with Green Conception.

Great to work with
I selected Green Conception after interviewing 5 companies. They gave me one of the more aggressive bids, which I liked. Their reviews were good, and their customer service was good, so I picked them for the install. They were easy to work with, kept to timelines, and quickly resolved any issues. I would recommend them.

Home in Glendale, Ca
I had a 3.2 KW system which was installed 10 years ago when I built the house. I wanted to add additional 4.8 KW system and I received one of the lowest quotes from Green Conceptions. Of the 5 companies that I contacted, only two were willing to install on a tile roof with a relatively sharp pitch. Couple of the big companies did not want to touch it since they were after the easy jobs with no challenges, i.e. shingle roof or flat roof. My project was slightly tricky since the solar codes had changed in the past 10 years since I had installed the unit and city of Glendale had a lot of restriction on set backs and other installation related matters.
These guys did all the permitting work with the city and they were upfront with me by informing that the project might not even get approved because of my unique case. They did however get all the permits over a 3 months time frame and started the project in November. I insisted on them using the existing conduit inside the wall and they did their best (Their installer Steve is the nicest guy I have worked with) until late in the evening but it did not fit and they had to rum an external conduit for the new cables to run through. They project is complete and I am very happy with the outcome.

My experience here in the desert
"Update 3/22/18 Since writing the review on SolarReview, I had several good conversations with Andre, who runs the installation at Green Conception. He offered to pay for the roof repair, and compensate us for the time we were without solar. I sent him figures and he spoke with his team, and they sent me a check! He also said that Nick, the owner, sends his apologies for any unprofessional interaction.
Andre was very apologetic himself, and really went out of his way to make us feel taken care of.
So although I can't re-write my review on this website, I am happy to add this addendum!"

Original Review: Green Conception is an LA company and we had them come out to Palm Springs rather than using a local company. Mostly because I knew the guy who was selling us the system, and they had good reviews. Now as we look back on it, of course it is better to have a local company, since dealing with city permits and systems are going to be easier for local company. We have had a few issues with the panels being turned off, and Green Conception not knowing that, even though part of the contract was for them to monitor the output from their end. The first time it was when we were away for several months in the summer, so we lost a lot of sun power during those months. We feel like we are "out of sight, out of mind" When I asked the owner, who is sometimes polite and reasonable and sometimes aggressive, to compensate us, never heard back. Overall, I would not recommend this company mostly because of him. The inconsistency of professionalism was frustrating in dealing with a system that we did not fully understand, as this was our first time having solar.
The other big thing is that when they installed the panels, one section of panel was pressed down on a copper drain pipe, which is supposed to be slightly off the roof. So that when it rains, it flows easily and doesn't trap water anywhere. During the last big rain, we had quite a leak into the house and the contractor who fixed it, found the copper pipe pressed down on the roof under a panel, which caused obstruction for water, which then went under the shingles and through the roof. Just replacing the copper pipe's position to the side of the panel was all that was needed. Why was that not done during solar panel installation?
Over all, the system works well, and that is the most important part. And the guys who install and service it have been professional and friendly.
