Happy with my choice of solar companies
My coworker had a good experience, so I got a quote from Solar Energy World and one competitor. The prices were comparable, so I chose Solar Energy World for 3 reasons: 1) Their sales, engineering, electrician, roofing, and administrative people all work for the company. No outsourcing or subcontracting. 2) It's a local company (for me) that has been around for decades and is growing. 3) My coworker had a good experience just a few months ago. They do all the paperwork - and there is a lot of it: permits, applications, and scheduling with the utility company and the county. All I had to do was read a form, sign it, and return it to them. Every person I talked with on the phone or in person was professional, knowledgeable, and cheerful. That's amazing!

The overall process is refined, and you can tell they have learned from experience. The sale of the Solar system in my case was captured based on the Fairfax County "Solar Switch" program. The program provided one more layer of scrutiny. The estimates on timelines proved true and the installers executed the panel layout and electrical routing as desired. They did miss the estimate of a one day install, however based on circumstances it was safer to execute over a two-day period.

Excellent Service
We first engaged with Solar Energy World over two years ago while we were beginning to consider Solar. We spoke with Paul who informed us about the process with Patience and expertise. It took us a while before we finally made the decision to move forward with Solar, including a few pauses on our end While we got comfortable with the overall process and costs. In each instance, Paul was patient and accommodating. Not overly pushy, giving us the space in time to make the right choice for us. When we finally decided to move forward at the end of 2024, Paul was quick to execute on our paperwork and moved through The actual installation process extremely efficiently, helping us to complete the project before the end of the year, so we could receive the tax credit as soon as possible. I was extremely impressed with the speed and professionalism of the entire Solar World team. They handled all of the details, all of the paperwork, all of the processing efficiently, effectively and quickly. Throughout the process we considered going with some of the more budget, friendly companies to execute this process, though after wadding through many of the details and fine print, we found that solar world really was only marginally more expensive. Without a doubt we felt like we got what we paid for, and the efficient effective and streamline processing and installation was far different than many of our friends have experienced with other installers. I couldn’t recommend solar world energy more.

From my initial phone call with the Solar Representative Jacques Frink and his on-site presentation to the Instation Team, it was overall a smooth and quick process. This office location (Laurel) are very responsive, and informative.

Project Sale, Installation & Follow Up
Our system has been on line since last April(2024). From the initial meeting with the Sales Engineer (Carson Landis) I have been quite pleased. After listening to his presentation, I offered some input on the placement of some panels on a separate building with a slightly different exposure. After the site/structure assessment, they were more than willing to put those additional panels on that building. That meant installing additional disconnects and underground cable but the overall cost was minimal. One of their competitors would not even consider that suggestion. After project approval(internal & municipality) the job started as per the target date and remained on track. As I was on site during the installation, I conveyed some concerns and they were addressed immediately and professionally. After the job was completed, the local code inspector came for inspection and asked that the service cable from the meter to our panel be replaced due to its age and condition of insulation. This had to be done before the system could go on line. Solar Energy World replaced that in a timely fashion at no additional cost to me.

Solar Energy world is the most honorable company I've ever delt with. No matter when you have a question, and no matter how silly you might think the question is, your call is responded to quickly and respectfully. Even with all of our cloudy days we are saving money with lower power bills. Their website allows for easy navigation even if technology is not something you are familiar with.
