Do not return phone calls. The craftsmanship of work is not the best. Waiting 3 months for the money they said they would pay when NV Energy removed the band on the meter. The panels work and the price was ok. I would not recommend.

DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS
Not my favorite sure was hot to take my money and then not respond back, block my emails and never return phone calls when your equipment malfunctioned and I didn't even know I wasn't producing from my panels. Then say "oh we knew since January". I have paid close to $1,200 in electric bills back-to-back $500 during the summer when my panels produce the most juice. and still, have another one due. I am recently diagnosed with cancer, so to have these expenses on top of all of this physical stress is ridiculous. Pretending you don't have a manager and pushing calls off and never responding back. Perhaps I should see how many others are involved in this farce and seek legal advice.

Stay away from Universal Solar
I ordered Solar from them on Feb 16, 2021 and till date (June 22, 2021) they have not installed it. To top it all there has been no proper communication. I have had to mail over and over and then they sent some excuse. The project manager Angela said she will copy me on all approval mails but I haven't received any mail from her as well. Overall their pricing and offers were great but I don't think they stand behind their words. Once you sign you are done and dusted and they don't care . Really disappointed that I selected them. Update: Sept 15 and my panels are not yet functioning. My loan payments have started and now I have to pay both APS and Solar. They had promised some cash back but I have been emailing them but no reply at all. Update : Sep 17 and finally my solar panels are up and running however haven't received the promised Cashback as of Oct 7. Still mailing them for the same and I get lame excuses. Folks please stay away from this company. I don't want anybody to go through what I'm going through.

Never worked properly
Paid $40,000 cash to include a backup battery and EV car charger. Universal told me I need 30 panels for my house, but the utility company said that was too many panels for the amount of electricity I use, so they denied the installation and said I could only put 27 panels on my. Universal installed 30 panels anyway and told me I had pay them or they would put a lien on my house. The utility said if I tried to use the solar they would lock me out of the system. After getting that resolved the car charger has never worked, and when my power went out the backup battery didn't work. They said I had an advanced system that even when the power would go out, the panels would still charge but they did not. They won't return my calls. Hiring an attorney and filing a complaint with the Contractor's Board.

Beware will keep all deposit.
Brian came gave me a quote. Didn't ask how old roof was, it's a 25 year tile roof been on 15 years. I decided to go with them. The next next day they called and said they had a cancellation and could start putting solar on. I asked about permits and they said it was no problem its just a walk to get one. I called the next morning and said no to starting without permit and I wanted to see where the panels were going to go. Got a email mail showing placement. I decided I didn't want solar it doesn't say nonrefundable on deposit. They say they have to much invested in product to give me any of of deposit. Beware

Universal Solar Direct is the best choice for Solar!
Universal Solar Direct is the best choice for Solar! They are very informative and will set you up to maximize your solar intake to save on your NV Energy bill. The battery will store any excess energy that you didn't use each month so that you can use it in the HOT months and really save a lot of money. The installers and office are really friendly and professional. I'm happy I made the choice to go with Universal Solar Direct!

A complete scam
The salesperson sold me on solar and per the contract signed in September 2020 they agreeded to have the panels installed by Dec 31st. Thet took a deposit of 1/3 down, close to $7000, and then never did any work. even a complaint to the Arizona Register of Contractors didn't get them to do the work. As of the end of February 2021 I have no solar panels and I am out my deposit. They didn't even apply for a building permit until after the ROC inspector scheduled. They are basic scam artists. Don't use them unless you want them to steal your deposit and spend years in court going after your money. Nothing but lies and false promises. They have no ethics or integrity.

Not perfect, but solid and committed company
Recommended! I wanted to choose a smaller company that had more of a "family business" feel, and I knew going-in that Universal was going to be a bit more expensive than many of the big name “bargain basement†installers, but I expected Universal would do things correctly, and have a deeper relationship with their customers to be sure everything was settled and transparent, with a high level of service. In summary, I buy major purchases based on quality, value, and integrity - even if it costs a bit more – do you really want to leave your solar project that should last 25+ years to the lowest cost bidder? With all the horror stories you hear about solar installers, it is very important to me to have a personal relationship to be able to connect with the installer every step of the way if needed - and that is what I found with Universal, and they have been stellar.

I would absolutely recommend Universal for your solar project. Let me start by saying that not everything went perfectly every step of the way -- there were some mis-steps by Universal in the sale and installation, as well as possibly some misunderstandings on my part as to the delivered solution. However, and this is key to me (and should be to you) -- Universal stepped up -- they owned the issue -- they were reachable, they escalated issues to leaders of the organization who really take a personal interest in the project and in the success of the customer (all the way up to the company founder). Having the ability to get the installation done correctly, with the best solar components (Q-Cells, SolarEdge), and having a direct-line to the organization leaders who are truly committed to your success will mean that the company will be around for a long-term in case you ever need to use the 25 year warranty - I don't think many of the solar installers will be... but in my opinion, you will get the value out of your project with Universal, and know that you'll have a support team behind you every step of the way. The integrity of your solar installer should be paramount for your long-term expectations, and I found integrity in Universal -- I think you will not be disappointed.
