DOWN PAYMENT
BREACH OF CONTRACT—AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT MOXIE SOLAR, IN HOPES THAT INSTALLATION WAS COMING SOON. I THEN CONTACTED A NEIGHBOR, GETTING SAME SYSTEM INSTALLED, INFORMED ME THAT MOXIE WAS CLOSING. I PUT MONEY DOWN ON SYSTEM. THIS WAS TO LOWER THE MONTHLY COST OF SOLAR SYSTEM AND ELECTRIC BILL. I AM A VETERAN. 72 YEARS OLD AND RETIRED. HAVING TROUBLE GETTING A LAWYER TO TAKE CASE.

Class Action
I paid roughly 60% towards a solar system that was never installed. I want a full refund, now this article (https://www.thegazette.com/business/north-liberty-solar-installation-company-closes/) indicates they are out of business and "there does not appear to be sufficient assets to accommodate unsecured creditors". . We should try a class action lawsuit.

14 months without complete installation
I have spent every week trying to get Moxie to fix issues with installation, wiring and finish installation since August. They sent people out once who then simply left saying they needed parts and the company ghosted me. Improper installation, billing and complete lack of communication… we need to band together on this one people. Class action lawsuit has to happen.

Google says Permanently Closed
Long story short, I remitted the first 10% in November 2022 and beginning the week of Thanksgiving, all communications stopped. Even with the REC buyer. Is there an attorney anyone would recommend, or has a class action suit been started? Lets band together and at least try to get our money back. WE can't raise anyone in Moxie, maybe a legal type can.

Don't ever do business with Moxie
We're nine months into an installation by this company. All I have to show for it is two letters of Intent to File Lien from the company's sub-contractors. They never fulfill their promises and now aren't returning calls.

Do NOT use - Cannot be trusted
Just got an email from Moxie Solar. "We are writing to inform you that Moxie Solar is under new ownership and new management. The company that you have a contract with is the former Moxie Solar (Old Moxie). We had voluntarily tried to accommodate customers that had contracts with Old Moxie, but unfortunately we are unable to do so and we cannot complete your project. We are deeply saddened by this outcome." "The company that you originally contracted with has been acquired, and in that purchase, the warranties that they held did not transfer to the new entity, so we will not be able to provide you service." They also owe me $4000 for a second Tesla Powerwall ordered in March, 2021 and never delivered. They promised to refund my down payment by November 2022.

Took our $25k deposit, and never delivered. We signed and put down a deposit for a large ground mount solar array in spring 2020. They guaranteed it would be completed by October of 2020. By January of 2021, Moxie was still tied up in permitting, with no end in sight. Communication was horrible. We canceled the contract after 9 months from signing because Moxie still couldn’t get out of the permit approval phase (they guaranteed goal job completion/installation in 6 months). They put in writing that we would get a full refund of our deposit in February of 2021. 13 months go by before we even hear from them again about how to repay us. They said they couldn’t pay us back until November of 2022, in four weekly installments. It is November of 2022, and Moxie still hasn’t refunded our deposit, 22 months later. They aren’t responding to emails or voicemails. This has been a nightmare! The next step is going to court. Do NOT use Moxie Solar! Run away as fast as can!

go with another company
hired Moxie to design and install our system. all went well with the design and install the folks we talked to and worked with were great. then the problems started, the local utility didn't approve of one connector in the metering box. getting moxie to correct the problem was a struggle, after a month of calls and emails the problem was finally corrected. the system was powered up and all was well, until we had a power surge and 1 bank of our panels flaked out, and like the connector issue getting any one in the service department to respond to our calls for service was and is an ongoing struggle. 2 months have gone by and we're still without 1 bank of panels working. when a service tech did show up to confirm the bank wasn't working, he stated we should have a surge protector on our system. which in my opinion should have been installed when the system was installed not after we're looking at what is seeming like an expensive repair. bottom line is hire someone else to for your solar system or learn to fix your system yourself. moxie has the sale and install covered, the design and service, falls flat, and to say that they failed would be an understatement!! HANWHA Q-CELLS were the panels installed (not listed in the dropdown)

14 months and no completed system
Small residential system and after 14 months of partial installation, and no response from them in almost six months I feel completely betrayed. All I wanted was a system to keep my wife safe and comfortable during power outages regardless of how long they lasted. Even paid more for a bigger battery bank to handle the whole house air conditioner. With out power, the LiFePo batteries that are mounted outside will be damaged by the below freezing weather. The only thing they have fulfilled in the contract is the start of the installation and billing me. The only part of the system that was installed where designed are the solar panels. The design engineer that planned the system did not properly plan for the correct sizes of anything else.

Moxie Solar Giving Green Energy a Black Eye
We contracted our solar system in 2017 with Moxie, with the project completed March 2018 (after we called to prompt them to please start the project). It took a phone call to a higher up staff member to get project going. We put up with problems from everything from paperwork problems to having our system designed on a neighbor’s shop roof, instead of our own. Once these issues were ironed out, we were told by the sales person that the 40 panel system didn’t fit on our shop roof, and we needed to do a ground mount system. Moxie worked with us and communicated well, at that time, so unfortunately, we decided to overlook the warning signs, as we wanted to have a sustainable source of green energy, so we commited to the solar ground system. All went well for 5 years and the app SolarEdge allowed us to monitor our production, until service was needed in May of 2022, when the system stopped sending our kWh of production to ComEd. A dozen calls to Moxie service went unanswered and most emails were ignored. Those that were responded to, we were told to “be patient”. We have currently lost all the summer production that net metering allows us to use in the winter; and we are paying full price for electricity. We were told by ComEd that they cannot retrieve our production from this summer, or any current production, but they sure can charge us for what we use. Moxie, you could have anticipated supply chain problems to get the internet connection device we need to get this $27,000 system back into production. It’s been 4 months and we are still waiting for service. We have asked for information on the repair part so we could hire another company to complete the repair. Supposedly, only a Moxie part/service can be used. Really? Moxie’s 5 star guarantee means nothing! I have kept 5 years of production and electricity cost records; and if Moxie wants to support us as customers, they will need to complete the repair, get our system running, and reimburse us for the losses we are incurring. By all means, support clean energy sources to end our dependence on fossil fuels, but do your homework before committing to any company.
