JR Cromer was the on-site supervisor when my initial 8kW solar array was installed in 2014, so it was only natural to again let him do the installation when this system was expanded to 12 kW in 2017. Everything went smoothly and I received a high quality product at a great price both times.
Community.Solar is your local, friendly solar installer servicing all of Mississippi.
Our goal is to transition Mississippi to 100% solar through installation, education, and advocacy. Mississippi deserves better than Kemper Coal and anti-solar monopolies.
Before solar, company founder John Cromer was a mechanical engineering working in the oil sector with Fluor Corporation. After getting into solar in 2008, he moved to Mississippi in 2011 to help a leading fiberoptic contractor obtain their commercial electrical contractor license, serving as their master electrician of record while leading the design, development, and installation of Mississippi's largest rooftop solar array, as well as its first 1MW ground mount.
In 2017, John Cromer started Community.Solar to focus on residential and small commercial installations. We provide turnkey installation, financing services, and have OPERATIONAL experience with off-grid residential homes.
Metal roofs, shingle roofs, trailer roofs, ground mounts, batteries - we do it all.
Our specialty is knowing how to make the array look good, including internal cable runs, on-the-ground pre-assembly, upsized cable, quality transition boxes, and other ways to spend your budget to achieve the most cost-effective, quality project possible.
Mississippi residential payback is around 12 years at ~$1.85/W installed. If that is acceptable to you, then we're the best at it.
We will beat ANY pricing by ANY licensed MS contractor or pay you $100 for educating us on something new!
If you are a commercial business with high demand charges, know that you have the best economics in the state. You do not even need to buy the array. We can pay you simply to host the array, structured as a community solar project.
Off-grid can be a great option, especially for new construction. Sometimes the cost to build the grid out to the jobsite is more than what you would spend on a LARGE off-grid battery bank.
We teach solar education to engineers, architects, and NABCEP solar installers. Our program has been taught physically in all 50 states. This gives us another revenue stream to secure our contracting business.
If you do not have a good site or large enough budget for solar, we provide private community solar options.
Basically, if you want solar and you are in Mississippi, you want to contact us!
